On September 17-18, 2022, the Chinese National Committee of The International Society for Digital Earth and the People's Government of Yangquan City organized the second Digital Energy and Sustainable Development Forum in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, China. Nearly 100 scholars participated in the forum, and the theme of this forum was "Digital Technology Empowers the Sustainable Development of Energy Provinces".

The International Society for Mine Surveying is the co-organizer of this forum. ISM President Huang Leting was invited to attend the forum and made a report entitled "History and Development of the International Society of Mine Surveying". The forum includes conference reports, special reports on smart mines and big data, special reports on coal-based greenhouse gas and pollution reduction, and special reports on mine ecology and remote sensing. The forum launched an online live broadcast, and 1,985 related professionals watched the live broadcast.
