On May 21, 2022, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Technical University and the International Society for Mining Surveying held an international scientific and technical conference on "Risks of digital transformation for rational and safe utilization of underground space in the 21st century, Challenges and Issues". President of the International Society for Mine Surveying, Professor Huang Leting was invited to participate in the online meeting and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Professor Huang Leting warmly congratulated the successful convening of this international scientific and technical conference, briefly reviewed the scientific and technical exchanges between China and Uzbekistan in the field of mine surveying, and expressed his best wishes for continuous cooperation and exchanges and promoting scientific and technical progress.
The purpose of this conference is to summarize the digitalization strategies and experiences of international underground space utilization, and to discuss the needs and priority areas of innovative development in the mining and metallurgical industries. The six experts covered geodynamic risks in underground resource development, mine surveying underpinning the digital transformation of mining production, update of the National Geodetic Reference System, digital reconstruction and filtering methods of aerial and photo images, and new developments in municipal solid waste treatment technology and equipment, geodetic surveying and mapping of Tashkent subway tunnels.
At the same time, the Union of Mine surveyors of Uzbekistan also held its second congress. Professor Hu Bingnan from China Coal Technology Engineering Group and Associate Professor Yang Yongjun from China University of Mining and Technology also attended the online meeting. This conference strengthened the international exchanges between Chinese and Uzbekistan scholars in the fields of surveying, mapping and mining.
